JJ Jun Li Bui, piano

Canadian pianist, JJ Jun Li Bui, achieved international acclaim at the age of 17 when he secured the 6th prize in the 18th International Fryderyk Chopin Piano Competition, marking a significant milestone as the youngest participant in that edition of the prestigious event.

JJ's journey has been punctuated by triumphs in various distinguished competitions, including the 2nd Beijing International Chopin Piano Competition for Young Pianists (2019), the Van Cliburn International Junior Piano Competition (2019), and the Aarhus International Piano Competition (2017).

JJ released his inaugural CD in 2023, produced under the esteemed Fryderyk Chopin Institute's Blue Series. This series is dedicated to showcasing the most captivating personalities emerging from subsequent editions of the Chopin Competition in Warsaw.

A globetrotting performer, JJ captivates audiences across North America, Europe, Asia, and South America through his captivating recitals. His repertoire extends to collaborations with prestigious orchestras, including the Warsaw National Philharmonic Orchestra, the China Guiyang Symphony Orchestra, the China Central Conservatory of Music Symphony Orchestra, and the Royal Conservatory of Music Academy Chamber Orchestra. JJ has shared the stage with eminent conductors such as Andrzej Boreyko. Anticipated highlights in JJ's career include upcoming concerts in Japan, Poland, Taiwan, the United States, Canada, and China.

JJ is currently pursuing his bachelor’s degree through the Oberlin Conservatory of Music, under the tutelage of Professor Dang Thai Son.
