4, Twilight Approaches for guanzi and guzheng
(U.S. Premiere) by Xu Zhijun

The sun descends, loneliness abounds. Dusk gradually embraces the land. Amidst the silence, memories surge, Loneliness pervades the heart.

Gazing into the distance, time slips away. Sorrow interweaves with the passing years. Strolling through twilight, amid tranquility, serenity accompanies the fading dusk.

Fading radiance, adorned by stars, silently listening to the wind's chant. Away from worldly clamor, the heart resides alone.  Such tranquility is seldom found.

The sky darkens, the heart grows quiet. Sighing at the swift passage of time, yet in this solitary twilight, finding a sense of contentment.

Wandering in the twilight's afterglow, feeling the rhythm of time passing. Though lonely, still resilient. As the sun sets, the heart remains warm.

7,  “Autumn Rain” for Dizi and Ensemble (World Premiere)
by Chen Tao

Autumn rain falls like pine ink on paper.
In wistful tones, nostalgia’s grace tempers.
Soaking the parchment in her autumn vapours.

Autumn rain spreads her silk beads much further.
Stronger than spring, the purpose is firmer,
Lines branching out like one gentle murmur.

Autumn rain calmly paints many stories,
Not like summer storms with winds all soaring,
But black, white, and gold and silver in glory

Autumn rain brings to mind many notions,
Like that shy girl who shows no emotion.
Silently painting feelings unspoken.

8, Ode to Clouds and Streams (World Premiere)
by Li Binyang

The clouds are without shape
laying across the forest, tired
The winds come from nowhere
Blowing at the trees until they seem to sing
The fountains, on their own accord, are running
and after thousands of cycles transform into streams
People, speechless
The man among them,
He just lets his heart flow along with the waters
